10.06.09 LifeLine Expands to Three Washington Locations With a focus on providing excellence in sleep care for patients throughout Washington and Greene counties, The Washington Hospital and LifeLine Center for Sleep Disorders announce today their sale of the hospital’s sleep centers to the new LifeLine Center for Sleep Disorders – Washington at the Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center.
LifeLine Center for Sleep Disorders – Washington leverages the strength of the region’s largest network of independent – and accredited – sleep facilities and adds it to the excellent care that patients have come to expect at the three locations operated by The Washington Hospital Sleep Center – at the Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center at The Washington Hospital, as well as satellite facilities in Waynesburg and McMurray. The new organization will maintain current staff including Medical Director Charles Koliner, M.D., Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, FCCP.
“In looking to assure continued excellence in sleep services, LifeLine was a natural,” said Karen Bray, Vice President Patient Care Services at The Washington Hospital. “As Western Pennsylvania’s leading independent sleep center, LifeLine offers considerable experience and expertise for our patients.”
LifeLine now owns or operates 22 facilities in Pennsylvania, including five centers that are accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine in Brentwood, Bridgeville, Forest Hills, Warrendale and the most recently accredited LifeLine Sleep Center at Excela Health – Westmoreland Hospital. Based outside Pittsburgh in Forest Hills, LifeLine’s community sleep locations include seven in partnership with Excela Health System, three with private physician groups and several additional facilities comfortably situated in area hotels, designed for those hesitant to enter sleep center or hospital facilities.
For the staff at LifeLine, access to sleep studies – and then treatment for sleep disorders, most commonly sleep apnea – has fueled their growth since the company’s inception in 2004. Since then, the organization has helped more than 9,000 patients get on track to sleeping and living well.
“Today, more than 40 million Americans have some kind of sleep disorder,” said Dann Scheiferstein, President, LifeLine Centers, “And most don’t even know it. Our goal is to make sleep studies accessible to people so they can get the care and treatment they need. We are honored to be able to continue the outstanding sleep program of The Washington Hospital.”
The LifeLine team is pioneering the access to sleep studies and treatment of sleep disorders in Western Pennsylvania, offering the region’s leading private sleep lab network, as well as facilities staffed with certified sleep technicians. LifeLine also offers the region’s most comprehensive Pediatric Sleep Program, based at LifeLine Center for Sleep Disorders at Allegheny General Hospital—Suburban Campus, and the Full Circle of Care for all patients. This includes guidance through every step of the sleep process – from testing to questions to navigating the insurance process -- as well as a full range of sleep equipment and supplies, like CPAP machines equipped with smart cards and featuring C-Flex.
